I spent a lot of time thinking about what kind of cupcakes I should make last night. I was originally going to make my vanilla cupcakes with coconut frosting but that sounded boring so I went on the hunt to find something that sounded fun to make. I kept coming across Halloween Candy cupcakes which had potential but nothing stuck out at me. So I asked my boyfriend his favorite Halloween candy and he said “3 Musketeers”. Then I found this frosting recipe and I got excited.
The chocolate cupcake is a variation of my standard chocolate cupcake. I wanted to make something just a little denser so the 3 Musketeers would fall to the bottom while baking. These actually ended up still being light and fluffy, and possibly even more delicious than the original.
It is the frosting though that sets these above the rest and puts them easily in my top 3 favorite cupcakes I’ve made. Seriously, the frosting is jammed packed with sugar but isn’t ridiculously sweet. And the marshmallow consistency is lovely. It’s even more marshmallowy than an actually 3 Musketeers!
Honestly, I think the extra chocolatey flavor of the cupcake and the extra marshmallow in the frosting makes these taste even better than a standard 3 Musketeers.
So, the reviews of this cupcake?
