Happy holidays everyone! Given the number of family dinners occurring right now, I decided it was finally time to make some home-made dinner rolls! These are incredibly easy to make and they taste delicious! I started making these first thing in the morning and while the dough was rising, made some cookies and helped with the rest of the cooking.
Easy, Delicious Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water (110 degrees - if you can't stick your finger in it without it burning it's too hot)
- 2 packets active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 1/4 cup flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl, stir the yeast and water together and allow to sit for 5 minutes
- With a wooden spoon, stir in butter, sugar, eggs, and salt
- Add flour 1 cup at a time until it no longer combines (I was able to add it all)
- Cover and allow to rise for 2 hours
- Grease a 9x13 baking pan
- Turn dough onto a floured surface and divide into 24 equal sized pieces
- Roll the pieces into smooth balls and place in rows in the baking pan
- Cover and allow to rise until doubled (about 1 hour)
- Heat oven to 375F and bake until golden brown: 15-20 minutes
