Happy May! I got this may stitch fix box just a few days after my birthday so I was really excited for my “birthday fix”. It’s been weirdly hot here so I made sure to ask my stylist for summer stuff.
What is stitch fix? It’s a box of 5 items (clothes, accessories, shoes!), picked personally for you by your stylist. You fill out a style profile, pin some things on pinterest, and get a box full of amazing clothes sent right to your door – once every 2-3 weeks, once a month, once every two months, or however frequently you want!. There’s a $20 styling fee that gets waived if you purchase anything, and if you keep all 5 items in your box, you get 25% off. You can even tell your stylist about things you’re looking for, or events you have coming up, before your box is styled so they can cater it towards that!
My stylist is Margaret and she’s been great at picking out fabulous items for me. This month was no different.
Just Black Adorra Skinny Jean
So I actually wore this outfit to work the day after I got my box. These pants are perfect. I love the melon color, they fit perfectly, and they’re just the right length. No need to cuff. They went great with my high-low top from a few fixes ago (p.s. here’s a link to that tree branch necklace).
And they went great with my gladiator sandals. I’d seriously be up for having a pair of these in every single color. They’re comfortable and perfect!
Verdict: Kept
Monica Suede Criss cross Sandal
I pinned these shoes! They’re really cute shoes and Margaret constructed my whole fix around them. They’re really cute shoes, I especially love the blue. But I felt really uncoordinated in them. Because the sole of the shoe was solid and thicker than I thought, there was no bend and as an already hard walker, I felt like I was clunking around when I tried to wear them. With a skinnier bottom it would have been better, but they’re still adorable
Verdict: Returned
Leslee Shirt Dress
Look how cute these shoes are with this dress. I like this dress in concept, a cute shirt dress with a pattern (I’m digging all these patterns I’m getting lately). The waist is a drawstring to keep the illusion that it’s still an oversized shirt but help give you a waist and it’s vibrantly colored! How cute.
I just felt like it didn’t do much for me. The sides are shorter and it felt too short. The yellow in the pattern made it a bit too much, the pocket placement felt weird and it just didn’t fit great. The top was baggy and when cinched with the drawstring it just seemed too big.
Verdict: returned
Finnegan Printed Cuffed Short
Seriously, so cute. They’re a substantial material, they fit really well, love the stripes and the color
Verdict: Kept
Harrison Embroidered Top
This top is cute in concept. It goes with my shorts and shoes and pants. I like the flower snowflake detailing and the back is cute.
But it’s sheer, too short and the narrowest part is at the armpits and then it flairs from there making it feel like I’m wearing a tent. If it was a fitted tank (that wasn’t so sheer) I would have loved it but as is it was a dud for me.
Verdict: Returned
Again, another really good fix! I got another pair of shorts (seriously, I need shorts so much) and some adorable pants.
